Michelle has been with the City of Springfield since 1992. She started out in the Electric Department as a Program Accounting Specialist and two years ago accepted the position as a Senior Accountant in the Finance Department at City Hall.
She is a member of the Central District Power Accountant’s Association (CDPAA), received certification as a Certified Utility Accountant thru TVPPA, and a Certified Municipal Finance Officer (CMFO).
As a Springfield High School graduate, Michelle enjoys working for her hometown and interacting with customers of whom some are her friends, fellow classmates, and retired teachers.
Her favorite memory of working for the city is each year when Christmas in the Park (a.k.a. Winter Wonderland) comes around! When she was on the committee for the Electric Department, she played a part in designing and building the structures that are put up for display in the park each year and working on the powerlines to ensure the lights stay on at Santa's Workshop. She has always enjoyed seeing how the children's and adults' faces light up when they see it.
???? Growing up she wanted to be an astronaut!
?? The Historic District of downtown Springfield is her favorite place, as she enjoys walking around and seeing all the older homes.
?? In her spare time, you can find Michelle at home outside with her dogs, gardening, and spending time with her children and new grandson!
