Citywide Junk Collection April 1 – 30

Home Posted on March 13, 2026

The City of Springfield will conduct the first of two planned citywide junk collection pickups for 2026 from Wednesday, April 1, through Thursday, April 30.

This service is available to residents living within the city limits and allows for the disposal of bulky household items that cannot be collected with regular household trash, such as furniture. The city provides junk collection twice each year in April and October, in addition to regular household garbage and brush collection.

Residents may begin placing items at the curb starting April 1. Collection crews will pick up items as they move through neighborhoods during the month. To ensure pickup, residents are encouraged not to wait until the final days of April, as collections may have already occurred in their area.

Loose or small items must be bagged, and bulky material and yard debris must be separated. Hazardous waste, tires, construction debris, and home improvement materials will not be collected. Due to a new fee by the Robertson County Landfill for mattresses, mattresses will no longer be accepted during junk collection.

This service is not available for commercial properties, apartments, condominiums, vacant properties, or vacant lots.
