Winter Wonderland Returns to Springfield

The City of Springfield’s annual holiday lights tradition will continue this year with a drive-through display. Winter Wonderland will be open nightly from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., December 10-23, 2021 at J. Travis Price Park, 4155 Wilks Road.

“Come out and celebrate our 20th anniversary of Winter Wonderland. J. Travis Price Park is transformed into a magical Christmas experience for all ages. Enjoy the lights and enchanting scenes presented by the City of Springfield Departments. Be sure to tune in to 106.1 FM to enjoy your favorite Christmas songs while driving through the park,” says Parks and Recreation Director Terry Martin.

Winter Wonderland, presented by the Springfield Parks & Recreation Department, is sure to create lasting memories as hundreds experience the captivating display of thousands of lights and more than a dozen holiday scenes.

Don’t forget to wave at Santa and Mrs. Claus, available on Friday and Saturday nights only. Admission is free.

In preparation for Winter Wonderland, J. Travis Price Park is closed to the public.

Dresden, TN Tornado Relief Fund Collection at Winter Wonderland

Many do not realize that the city of Dresden, Tennessee was drastically affected by the most recent tornado. With a population of 3,500, 140 families lost their homes, along with the Dresden Enterprise Newspaper office, their Fire Department, and multiple Main Street structures.

Friday, December 17-Thursday, December 23, 2021, the City of Springfield will be collecting money at the City of Springfield’s annual holiday lights tradition, Winter Wonderland located at J. Travis Price Park. You may drop off your money with a Springfield Parks and Recreation employee at the front of the event.

These funds will be sent to the Dresden Rotary Club Tornado Relief Fund and will provide items for situations that may get overlooked such as the need for blankets, pillows, new clothing, socks, pajamas, and will also assist those without or not enough homeowner’s or renters’ insurance.

If you are unable to attend Winter Wonderland, you can drop off your donation at The Center, located at 401 N Main Street in Springfield, December 17-22, 2021 from 6:30 am-7:00 pm.
