[ARCHIVED] The City of Springfield to reopen Springfield Greenway and Legacy Golf Course Friday

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. – The Springfield Greenway and the Legacy Golf Course will reopen to the public on Friday, April 24.

Greenway visitors are advised to maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet at all times.

Parking for the greenway will be available at the Legion Field/North Main Street trailhead and J. Travis Price Park. Garner Street Park will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Anyone choosing to walk the section of the greenway between North Main Street and Garner Street Park must be prepared to return to North Main. A section of the Greenway from the bridge on Highway 41 to the old water plant, remains temporarily closed for construction.

The Legacy Golf Course continues to take precautions to ensure compliance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state guidelines regarding COVID-19. Those include: limiting carts to only one golfer, limiting the number of people in the clubhouse, and ensuring distance between groups.

“It is important that we all remain cautious by following the CDC’s recommendations of social distancing and wearing a facial covering when in public to help contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus,” said Gina Holt, Springfield City Manager.
